We are delighted to announce our 6 Lead schools for Music in Dorset. These schools have stepped up to support the Octagon Music Hub in delivering high quality music education for the children and young people of Dorset. We are so grateful for their support and dedication to improving musical outcomes for our young people and look forward to working with them across the academic year.
Our Lead Schools are;
Prince of Wales First School
Thomas Hardye
Ferndown Middle
The Gryphon
Coastland College
Westfield Arts Academy
Lead schools are trailblazers in music education – not just participants. They are facilitators of the Octagon Music Hub’s vision and will help shape the future of music in schools by working alongside the Hub to inspire and innovate.
Lead schools will:
Champion music in their communities, sharing best practice and celebrating musical achievements.
Host and lead meetings and training sessions.
Support other schools in developing their School Music Development Plans.
Meet termly with the Octagon Hub team to offer feedback and help shape future opportunities.
Promote musical activities and events across their local authority
Lead schools were chosen through an open invitation sent to all schools and SEND settings across Dorset.
After careful review by the Octagon Hub team, we’re proud of the schools who have stepped up to make a lasting impact on the musical offer for the children and young people of Dorset.
Our Lead schools can be contacted via the Octagon Music Hub. Please don’t contact them directly as any support will need to come via the Hub as per our agreement with our Lead schools.
